HIT – HelMSIC International Training 2020
HIT is back for the fourth time, after the previous successful events, to offer another unforgettable and educational experience! HIT – HelMSIC International Training is an international training event for medical students from all over the world that aims to educate them on various topics, using peer education.
What kind of workshops are included?
HIT 2020 includes three workshops:
- TNT – Training New Trainers
- PRET – Professional and Research Exchanges Training
- TACSE – Training on Advanced Comprehensive Sexuality Education
The workshops will last four days and they will be conducted simultaneously. Also, they will all be in english.
TNT – Training New Trainers
TNT is a training seminar that aims in educating the participants on general skills – soft skills. These may be time and crises management, leadership skills, team management and intercultural understanding, skills necessary for a medical student as well as a future doctor. After the end of the workshop the participants will be able to facilitate workshops on similar topics.
PRET – Professional and Research Exchanges Training
PRET is a seminar that aims in educating the participants on the best practises and methods on organising successful clinical and research exchanges in their local committee or their country. Moreover they will have the chance to get trained on topics relevant to the standing committees on Clinical and Research Exchanges, such as intercultural understanding and cooperation on a multicultural level, as well as some soft skills topics. After the end of the workshop the participants will be able to facilitate workshops on similar topics.
TACSE – Training on Advanced Comprehensive Sexuality Education
TACSE is a new educational seminar within IFMSA which focuses on making clear the importance of sexuality education in sexual and reproductive health. The workshop will contain sexuality education topics, basic values that need to be taken into consideration in constructing similar seminars as well as advocacy topics. The workshop is mostly addressed to experienced trainers who wish to enhance their knowledge on the topic and on the education of young people.

Moreover it offers the chance to share unforgettable experiences, interact and communicate with medical students from all over the world. Generally it is a unique experience that provides a different more holistic view of medicine.

When and where will it take place?
HIT 2020 will take place in Thessaloniki and particularly in the Stay Hybrid Youth Hostel on April 10-14.
What is the fee and what does it include?
The fee is 100€ and it includes accommodation (4 nights) food (all of the meals) and the logistics needed for the workshops. The fee does not cover transportation from the participant’s country or city to Thessaloniki.
