HIT – HelMSIC International Training 2022
The biggest training event of HelMSIC returns in person!
What is HIT?
HIT – HelMSIC International Training is an international training event for medical students from all over the world that aims to educate them on various topics, using peer education.
HIT is approved and supported by IFMSA – International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations, as one of its official Sub-Regional Training events.
What will HIT 2022 include?
HIT 2022 will include the following three workshops:
- TACSE – Training on Advanced Comprehensive Sexuality Education
- PHLT – Public Health Leadership Training on Antimicrobial Resistance
- HRMP – Human Rights for Medical Practitioners
The workshops will last four days and will take place simultaneously, while everything will be delivered in English.
TACSE – Training on Advanced Comprehensive Sexuality Education
TACSE is an educational seminar that focuses on making clear the importance of sexuality education in sexual and reproductive health. The workshop will contain sexuality education topics, basic values that need to be taken into consideration in constructing similar seminars as well as advocacy topics.
PHLT – Public Health Leadership Training on Vaccines
In this workshop participants are empowered to advocate for Public Health issues and especially for Vaccinations and Communicable Diseases. In terms of practical skills, participants will be able to acquire skills such as learning how to step up as leaders, embracing their role as future health professionals, and organizing and managing activities related to Public Health. The new Public Health Leaders will be able to stand up and have a positive impact on their communities, in order to meaningfully contribute towards the end of the Pandemic.
HRMP – Human Rights for Medical Practitioners
In this HRMP workshop, medical students from around the world will have the chance to gain knowledge, practice their skills, enhance their personal abilities, exchange ideas and concerns and get inspired about Human Rights. One main goal will be to capacitate members from all around the world to have knowledge skills and values necessary to improve the standard of health for patients by equipping participants with tools and information on the protection of patients’ rights and provision of dignified and non-discriminatory health care with special focus on vulnerable groups.
What will you gain from your participation in HIT?
HIT allows you to get trained on a topic that interests you related to the field of medicine along with students from medical schools around the world. Moreover Second, through peer education, which is an active learning process, you will be invited to challenge yourself in new activities that purposefully cultivate your skills and help you get to know yourself better. Also, the intercultural interaction will enable you to exchange views and broaden your horizons on medical issues and more. Every previous HIT participant talks about the people they met and the experiences they had with them that led to new friendships and beautiful memories. Overall, HIT is an experience that will make you reconsider both your role as a medical student in our society as well as the limits that (do not) exist in our growth as human beings.
When and where will it take place?
HIT 2022 will take place in Thessaloniki and specifically at the Stay Hybrid Youth Hostel, on April 26-30.
What is the participation fee and what does it include?
The participation fee is 100 € and includes accommodation (4 nights), food (all meals), and the necessary logistics and materials for the workshops.
The fee does not cover the transportation costs of the participants from their country or city to Thessaloniki.
How can you register?
