IFMSA

HelMSIC constitutes, since its establishment, a carrier of communication and action of medical students of Greece, in IFMSA and via IFMSA in World Health Organisation, other Organisations of United Nations, European Union and European Council.

IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations) was established in 1951 by enthusiastic medical students with a huge vision for connection and communication between medical students internationally.

It’s about the oldest and the biggest international organization that represents medical students internationally. It is a federation of medical students’ organizations, with organizations-members from more than 130 countries all over the world, representing more than 1.3 million medical students internationally.

IFMSA is recognised as a non-governmental organization by the United Nations and the World Health Organization, while it collaborates with the World Medical Association.

For more that 60 years IFMSA has been inspiring medical students to develop their skills and improve the world around them.

International IFMSA Meetings | Medical students who are active in HelMSIC can participate in IFMSA General Assemblies, IFMSA European Regional Meeting (EuRegMe) and other international meetings. They are unique meetings, in which medical students from all around the world are at the same area and have the ultimate intercultural experience.

Τhe IFMSA Mission Statement | IFMSA unites medical students worldwide to lead initiatives that impact positively the communities they serve. IFMSA represents the opinions and ideas of future health professionals in the field of global health, and works in collaboration with external partners. IFMSA builds capacity through training, project and exchanges opportunities, while embracing cultural diversity so as to shape a sustainable and healthy future.
